sp_MScheckIsPubOfSub is missing

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Workgroup SP4 (9.0.5057 I think) publishing
to one SQL 2005 machine and four SQL Server 2000 (SP4) machines.

Last Friday all subsriptions from the publisher started to fail due to
the stored procedure 'sp_MScheckIsPubOfSub' being missing, or at least
that's what the error claims.

My question: how can I recreate this sp, and why did it go missing in
the first place? If it _should_ exist, which database should it exist
in?

Many thanks.

Sir Humphrey: My job is to carry out government policy.
Hacker: Even if you think it's wrong?
Sir Humphrey: Well, almost all government policy is wrong, but...
frightfully well carried out.

I should point out that we've tried re-applying 2005 SP4 with no
success.
